Comedian Dennis Padilla recently opened up about his experience attending the wedding of his daughter, Claudia Barretto, and businessman Basti Lorenzo on Tuesday, April 8. In a phone interview with Ogie Diaz, Dennis expressed his disappointment after being treated as just a “guest” at the wedding, despite attending and witnessing the ceremony. He revealed on social media that he was not the one to walk Claudia down the aisle.

During the interview, Dennis reflected on a dinner he had with his children on March 18, where he wished Claudia had been upfront about not including him in the wedding entourage. He also shared that Claudia had told him, “I want you to look good, Papa, on that day,” which made him feel like he had an important role in the wedding.

Dennis further revealed that hours before the wedding, Claudia confided in him, expressing doubts about the wedding due to her concerns about Basti’s interest in their marriage. Dennis advised her that if she felt unsure, it was okay and people, especially him as a father, would understand.

However, just an hour after their conversation, Claudia called Dennis again to confirm that the wedding was proceeding. Dennis quickly prepared and went to Caloocan City to pick up his mother, then headed to the church. When the entourage began, he discovered he would not be the one to walk Claudia down the aisle, which he described as the “most painful moment” of his life, even more so than previous events where he wasn’t present for his children. Dennis couldn’t help but tear up as he watched his daughter walk down the aisle.
